George McLafferty

It is with deep regret that we note the passing of our brother Knight, George McLafferty, who left this life on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Brother George was 81 years of age and was a Third-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, having joined the order on April 1, 1965.

Born March 14, 1943 in Butler, he was the son of Peter McLafferty and M. Ethel Bauldoff McLafferty. George worked as a car salesman for Honda North for 28 years, retiring in 2008. He had previously worked at Pullman Standard. George was a social member of the Saxonburg VFW Post 683 in Butler. He was an avid Steelers, Pirates and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed vacationing at Marco Island and spending time with his grandsons and extended family. George loved to negotiate a good deal.

Surviving him are his wife, Nancy (Giesler) McLafferty, whom he married Nov. 23, 1963; his daughter, Leann (Doug) Leslie of Valencia; his sister, Mary Tirk of Butler; and two grandsons, Cole and Hunter Leslie. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, James McLafferty, Edward McLafferty and Gary McLafferty.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg. Private interment will be in St. Luke Cemetery, Cabot.

Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord….and let the perpetual light shine upon him…..may he rest in peace…..may his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace……
