Vincent Ritzert

It is with deep regret that we note the passing of our brother Knight, Vincent D. Ritzert, who left this life on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Brother Vincent was 72 years of age and was a Third-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, having joined the order on April 1, 1991.

Born in Butler on June 20, 1951, he was a son of Vincent P. Ritzert and the late Genevieve Pearl Hutchison Ritzert. He was a member of All Saints Parish, Butler. A talented musician, Vince was the music director at Saint Clare of Assisi Parish, and he formerly served as music director at All Saints Parish, Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, Crossroads Presbyterian Church and Saint Luke Lutheran Church. He was previously employed as a meat cutter at Butler Meat Packing and at Giant Eagle. He attended Duquesne University and Youngstown State University.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Elaine M. Noullet Ritzert, whom he married Nov. 6, 1982; one brother, Dennis J. Ritzert and his wife, Patricia, of Chicora; one sister, Kathleen M. Ritzert (Kim Litton), of Cranberry Township; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Saint Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road, Butler, with the Rev. Matthew McClain officiating. Burial will take place in Saint Joseph Cemetery, North Oakland. The family requests memorial donations to Saint Clare of Assisi Parish, 864 Chicora Road, Chicora, PA 16025.

Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord….and let the perpetual light shine upon him…..may he rest in peace…..may his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace……
